Government guidelines for child carers state that first-aid training must cater for practitioners caring for children in the absence of their parents, be a minimum of 12 hours, cover what to include ina first-aid kit for babies and children, demonstrate resuscitation techniques using models of babies and children, and give practitioners a chance to practice on models of each age group and include how to record accidents and incidents appropriately.
This course meets Ofsted requirements for registered childminders and the requirements for first aid for nannies under the Department for Children, Schools and Families Approved Carers Scheme. This course meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework. It can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.
The course focuses heavily on dealing with child and infant first aid and is useful to those who take children away from the school or the nursery setting, on walks to the park or to catch a bus to activities.
