Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce
What qualification will I achieve?
Diploma for the Children and Young People’s workforce (CYPW)
How long is the course?
This is an 18 month course and learners are required to attend college one evening session per fortnight.
What are the entry requirements?
You must have a placement within a nursery, crèche, school or pre-school setting. You may be required to update your numeracy & literacy skills to a level 2. Enhanced CRB check.
How will I learn?
Learning will be done mostly in your work placement, working alongside experienced practitioners.
What subjects will I study?
- Promote communication
- Engage in personal development
- Promote equality and inclusion
- Principles for implementing duty of care
- Understand child and young person development
- Promote child and young person development
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through observation in the workplace, professional discussion and oral and written questions. Completion of portfolio.
What opportunities will this lead to?
Progression to Foundation Degree in Early Years.
