These qualifications are aimed at those who maintain the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.  The Certificate is specifically of interest to those who are part of the internal quality assurance processes and lead a team of internal quality assurance staff.

What qualification will I achieve?

OCR Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices OR
OCR Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

How long is the course?

The qualifications range from 90 hours for the Award to 115 hours for the Certificate.

What are the entry requirements?

You need to demonstrate competency in order to enrol for this course. Competency is assessed by having either experiencein the subject area you want to verify or at least a qualification at level 4 and above in your subject area.
Candidates should be in a position to meet the assessment criteria.

How will I learn?

This qualification is competence-based, linking a person’s ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work.  This means that a person’s skills, knowledge and competences are assessed in a practical way, combined with building a portfolio of practical work, which is monitored by your assessor from College.

What subjects will I study?

To achieve the Award must complete a minimum of 12 Credits which are made up of 2 mandatory units:

  • Understanding the principles and practices of internally assessing the quality of assessment
  • Internally assure the quality of assessment

To achieve the Certificate you must also complete a total of 17 credits consisting of the 2 mandatory units above plus;

  • Plan, allocate and monitor work in your own area of responsibility

How will I be assessed?

The units are assessed in your workplace through evaluation of evidence gathered during the course of the program. Evidence which can include observations of performance, work products and questioning sessions.

Are there any additional costs?

There are no costs in addition to the advertised course fee.
