This course is aimed at those who, as part of their working duties, are involved in mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPS).

What qualification will I achieve?

An IPAF Operator Certificate.

How long is the course?

This is a 7 hour program and is typically delivered in one full-day session or 2 half-day sessions.
 
What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements.  This course is intended for those who are new to Word or who have a limited working knowledge of the application.

How will I learn?

The aim of the training is to provide candidates with the necessary information and instruction in the safe use of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPS). As the instruction may be carried out on site, the client’s site regulations/requirements must be adhered to. PPE must be worn at all times.

What subjects will I study?
The course includes the following;

• Health & Safety legislation and regulations
• Limitations and use of mobile elevating work platforms
• Identifying controls, safety devices and warning alarms
• Daily and routine inspection and servicing requirements
• Setting up in preparation for work
• Ground and site conditions
• Safe operating techniques
• Emergency lowering procedures
• Manufacturers instruction manuals
• The use of fall arrest/restraint equipment
• Practical operating text

How will I be assessed?
Through completion of practical exercises and tasks
