Microsoft PowerPoint Courses (Distance Learning)

These PowerPoint courses will introduce you to the various functions and features that the program has to offer including; creating a spreadsheet, inserting images, animating objects, using slide transitions and formatting presentations.

 The Microsoft PowerPoint courses form part of our suite of ICT training courses which includes Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel. 

What qualification will I achieve?

Delegates will receive a college certificate of completion demonstrating that they have completed the relevant training.

How long are the courses?

These courses can be completed in 10 hours but as a distance learning package you can take as long as you need.
 
What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements.  This course is intended for those who are new to PowerPoint or who have a limited working knowledge of the application.


How will I learn?
Delegates will progress through a work book and CD and will have access to a tutor via email.

What subjects will I study?

Microsft PowerPoint Novice
The course includes the following;

  • Create a presentation consisting of 4 slides
  • Use and apply existing design templates
  • Use and apply 2 slide formats
  • Format text using appropriate tools
  • Insert and re-size an image
  • Learn to spell check the presentation
  • View the presentation

Microsft PowerPoint Experienced
The course includes the following;

  • Ribbons & Icons: Picture toolbar, customising the ribbon/icon
  • Formatting & Editing: Page setup, viewing slides, change order of slides, copy a slide, delete a slide, hide a slide, headers and footers, colourschemes and backgrounds, design templates, line spacing, slide transitions, custom animation
  • Add a picture/clipart: add a picture/clipart – blank page, working with pictures/clipart
  • Print / View: print preview, print slides, view a slide show, loop slides continuously, rehearse timings
  • Using auto-shapes: order shapes, group and ungroup
  • Additional PowerPoint skills: tables, importing charts/graphs, charts, organisation charts, presentation tips, add presenter notes, create a master slide, add sound to a presentation, add video/movie clips, use stylus/pen, use actions buttons.

How will I be assessed?

Through the completion of a range of exercises.

Are there any additional costs?

There are no additional costs, the quoted fee includes all relevant registration, exam fees and course book(s).
