These short programs form part of our IT training suite. Courses are available at a range of levels levels to suit new, experienced and advanced users in the use Microsoft Word.

What qualification will I achieve?

Delegates will receive a college certificate of attendance demonstrating that they have received the relevant training.

How long is the course?

These programs range from 2 to 4 hourse and are typically delivered in one afternoon or evening session.
 
How will I learn?

This course is based around demonstration and practical work to provide hands on experience.

What subjects will I study?

The courses are offered at 3 levels including the following;

Introduction to Word
Be able to create, name, store and retrieve documents
Combine information in a document from a variety of sources
Enter, edit and format text
Insert images & re-size them
Enter text into existing tables

MS Word for Everyday Users
Use appropriate techniques to enter and edit information in a document
Combine information and images within a document from different sources
Use a range of editing tools to amend document content
Use templates for different purposes
Insert and format simple tables
Apply existing styles
MS Word for Advanced Users
Enter text and other information accurately and effectively
Use tools such as columns to help organise document content
Create and modify tables using advanced techniques
Create new styles
Mail Merge a letter
Check documents meet needs, using IT tools and making corrections as needed.

Mail Merges Workshop
Workshop demonstrating how to merge letters with various data sources for speedy mailshot production.

MS 2010; The Changes (Excel or PowerPoint or Word or Access)
These short, 2-hour programs which form part of our IT training suite highlight the main changes between MS 2007 and 2010 in Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint; ensuring a smooth upgrade.

How will I be assessed?

Through completion of practical exercises and tasks.

Are there any additional costs?

There are no additional costs, the quoted fee includes all relevant registration, exam fees and course book(s).
