Food Safety in Catering CIEH Level 2 Award - Refresher

Food hygiene and safety training providers have identified a growing need to make food safety learning more relevant to specific business environments to increase effectiveness. Reflecting sector-specific needs these food safety qualifications are required to address new National Occupational Standards. In line with this demand, the CIEH Awards in Food Safety have been designed to address the food safety and hygiene needs of the catering and manufacturing industries.

This qualification is aimed at food handlers in catering businesses, who have previously achieved the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, to remind them of their responsibilities towards food safety, keep their knowledge up-to-date and become aware of any changes in legislation. In order to enrol for a refresher qualification, candidates must provide evidence of having previously undertaken and passed a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering,

Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand:
Their personal responsibility for food safety
The importance of keeping themselves clean and hygienic
How working areas are kept clean and hygienic
The importance of keeping food safe.

What qualification will I achieve?
CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

How long is the course?
One 3 hour training session.

What are the entry requirements?
Candidates must have previously completed the CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety and be able to produce a certificate as documentary evidence of this.  Without a copy of your certificate to prove previous completion of the Level 2 Food Safety in Catering CIEH will not process your result.

How will I learn?
Through discussion and participation in class activities.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by a multiple choice examination consisting of 30 questions. The candidates are assessed by an examination paper consisting of 30 multiple choice questions to be completed in one hour under examination conditions. Candidates who achieve 20 or more correct answers will pass the examination and receive a certificate.
