This Dealing With Difficult Situations course is designed to help front office and front line staff, such as sales teams, develop their skills in recognizing and dealing with difficult/aggressive behaviour.

A Furness College Certificate of Attendance.

One day.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal educational requirements but a good standard of literacy is required so that participants can participate fully in group discussions.

How will I learn?

Through workshops and discussions.

What subjects will I study?

  • Recognising profiles of difficult people and developing strategies for handling them
  • Pre-empting challenging situations and techniques to avoid escalation
  • Identification of personality types and how they interact or may clash
  • Handling aggressive behavior and developing assertive skills
  • Developing specific strategies for the resolution of different conflict situations

How will I be assessed?

There are no formal assessment procedures.

What opportunities will this lead to?

Furness College offers a suite of Office Skills/Management courses. Participants can discuss the most appropriate progression route with their tutor.
