What qualification will I achieve?
AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting

How long is the course?
One evening and one morning session over 36 weeks
The qualification will require at least an equal amount of home study.

What are the entry requirements?
Progression from Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or exemptions based on prior qualifications/experience.
The AAT requires that students disclose any criminal records or financial barriers to membership e.g. county court judgements, bankruptcy etc.  Applicants should seek advice from the AAT (www.aat.org.uk) to ensure they can meet these requirements for AAT student membership before enrolment takes place.

How will I learn?
Taught sessions and workshops.

What subjects will I study?

  • Preparing final accounts for partnerships and sole traders
  • Cash management
  • Providing cost and revenue information
  • Preparing and completing VAT returns
  • Working with spread sheets
  • Professional ethics in accounting and finance


How will I be assessed?
All units include computer based assessments at the college.

What opportunities will this lead to?
Students who satisfactorily complete this qualification can, in agreement with the college, progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Accounting

Are there any additional costs?
Annual membership fee, initial AAT registration (unless already registered with the AAT from Level 2), exam fees and textbooks (See additional sheet)
